Attractions in the Cape Tribulation area
GREAT BARRIER REEF

The Great Barrier Reef is very close to Cape Tribulation, and can be reached by boat in 30 minutes from Cape Tribulation Beach. Visitors have the choice of a full day trip, which includes the option to dive, or a half day trip, which provides excellent snorkelling opportunites at two locations on the reef. The snorkelling and diving is spectacular, with the possibility of swimming with a turtle, and snorkelling amongst a multitude of tropical fish. A visit to the Great Barrier Reef from Cape Tribulation is not to be missed. Avoid the crowds.

DAINTREE RAINFOREST

The Daintree Rainforest is one of the most ancient rainforests on the earth. You can explore the rainforest by using one of the many boardwalks in the area or join a guided tour. The Daintree Discovery Centre provides an aerial walkway and canopy tower, at Cow Bay, 15 minutes drive north of the Daintree Ferry. The Bat House, at Cape Tribulation provides detailed information on the area, and you can meet a bat face to face. You can climb Mt Sorrow, at 850m high, or you can swim in a freshwater swimming hole at Emmagen Creek, just north of Cape Tribulation. FIND OUT MORE ABOUT WALKS

BEACH WALKING AND RELAXATION

A beautiful long beach walk links Myall Beach and Cape Tribulation Beach, with a signposted track which climbs over the neck of the cape. HOME TO THE ENDANGERED CASSOWARY

As you drive to Cape Tribulation from the Daintree Ferry, you will notice the cassowary signs. The Cow Bay area, just south of Cape Tribulation has been classified as an Outstanding Cassowary Habitat Zone. Cassowaries can grow up to 2m tall and weigh 85 kgs. They can be dangerous so keep your distance, and never feed one.
